Sarcoptic mange in dogs is also known as canine scabies in dogs. In spite of that it is also known as skin disease of dogs.

Sarcoptic mange in dogs : It is a highly contagious ( spreading ) disease found in dogs. Again It is skin disease caused by Sarcoptic scabiei mite. Also this mite causes effective itching and irritation. This is an type of mange. So that dog scratches his body part and causes hair fall or alopecia or baldness. Besides It is zoonotic disease ( spreading in human ) in nature. As a result it highly spreading in animal to animal. Apart from its affective nature this is treatable in early stages.

SYMPTOMS :

1.Excessive itching.

2.Hairfall or alopecia or baldness.

3.Skin rashes.

4.Crust is formed in affected areas.

5.Irritation.

6.Sometime skin become dark.

CAUSES :

1.By contact with effected animal.

2.By sarcoptic scabiei.

3.By mites ( which move animal to animal ).

4.Highly spreading in kennel dogs.

DIAGNOSIS :

Moreover it include food allergies or environmental allergies then check skin condition in addition to it is bacterial or fungal or mange. Moreover lets concern about that immediately take him to nearby vet for proper diagnosis of which type of microorganism affect skin.

TREATMENT :

1.Medicated shampoo to kill microorganism e.g. Conaseb shampoo, Ketochlor shampoo. For this reason you can use any medicated shampoo.

2.Scabicidal dips : Ivermectin, selamectin, lime sulphur and duramectin in the form of injection or tablet.

3.Antibiotics ( In addition to antibiotic that are use to suppress and kill the growth of micro organism ).

4.NSAIDS ( non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs ) e.g. meloxicam etc.

5.Anti allergic medication ( For one thing you must have to use that medication which is prescribed by vet )

DOSAGE : AS PER RECOMMENDED BY YOUR VET.

Sarcoptic mange can be treated as in early stages. Its very hard to treat dog in chronic situation.

Prevention :

1.Quarantine your dog because it is zoonotic disease which effects you.

2.Check the signs of purplish rash on their arms, chest or abdomen.

3.Take him to nearby vet for proper diagnosis and treatment.
